This Special Report was developed in 1984 for the Wichita Business Journal, and is rather dated; many of the specific facts have changed, particularly specific numbers. But this remains a fairly realistic guide to doing business with local government, not only in Wichita and Sedgwick County, Kansas, but nationwide — especially in cities and counties of comparable size and character.
But that's not all! It also serves to describe, very roughly, many of the issues commonly involved in contracting with other governments -- from school boards and water districts, to states, to the federal government.
